SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is primarily responsible for designing and developing electronic products that are used for pets. This includes acting as the Lead Engineer for assigned projects and providing complete engineering oversight of new product introduction.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Owns the electrical engineering of new product development in the China Engineering team and mainly focus on new concept product designing.

? Work with engineering manager to communicate with Category manager to understand customer’s requirements with Customer-Centered Designing thinking.

? Creates product design and product specifications for technical feasibility which includes costs, features and time to market and submits for approval.

? Designs schematics, creates BOM and is responsible for PCB layout to ensure successful prototype test.

? Develops bug-free firmware based on Microchip, TI and Cypress MCU platform to meet product requirements.

? Communicates independently with U.S. engineering team to carry out necessary technical discussion and design alignment.

? Coordinates with contract manufacturers to obtain manufacturing cost quote, feasibility to build, DFMA, and part approvals, as well as design verification and issue solving.

? Performs DFMEA design reviews and electrical peer design reviews for products under development, submits for approval, and follows-up on corrective actions needed.

? Works with Mechanical Engineer to finalize the housing enclosure needed for new tooling release.

? Works with supplier to set-up long lead part, pilot, and production orders.

? Other duties as assigned.



SPECIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BSEE) or related majors is required. Master’s Degree preferred.

? Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the design and development of high volume, low cost consumer electronic products. This includes electronic hardware design, firmware design and circuit analysis experience and experience in taking products into production. This also includes experience in the design of hardware to operate in rugged mechanical environments and over industrial temperature extremes.

? Minimum 5 years’ experience with low power, low signal analog design and circuit analysis. Experience in the RF reception design and discrete component amplifier design is required.

? Solid firmware development ability is required. Minimum 3 years hand-on embedded programming experience based on C language.

? Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

? Speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

? Proficient use of PADS and at least one MCU related IDE development system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio/Smart Draw.

? Domestic and international travel is required up to 20-30%.

? Reports directly to the Senior Engineering Manager of China Engineering Team.
